Series 1 Sprint Was a Natural Follow-on to 6C2500 Villa d'Este

     While not identical, there's little doubt that these two Touring coupes are related in style as well as in time. The designers of the 1900 Sprint clearly were drawing inspiration from--but did not clone--their own recent, award-winning Villa d'Este 6C2500 coupe.

     At the rear, below, the sculpturing of the 6C flows outward, while that of the 1900 Sprint flows inward. And, as on this very early Series 1 Sprint, the license plate surround of the 6C was basically turned upside down when it was applied to the 1900's trunk lid. Even the bumpers have a similar profile.

Nowhere is the relationship between the late 6C2500 Villa d'Este coupe and an early Tipo1 Touring coupe more obvious than in a comparison of their respective "greenhouses" ...
